What we use, how we make money, and what that means for editorial independence.

AI in our production

Drafting, research synthesis, and source aggregation are assisted by AI tooling (Claude). Human editorial review precedes every publication. Articles are not auto-published. Opinions, conclusions and editorial framing are decided by humans.

Authors

Articles are bylined “Daniel Carrow”. That is a pen name, not the editor’s legal identity, and we disclose it here. We do this for editorial independence: we review tools and track regulation in a small industry, including products our editor has worked with, and a pen name lets us publish critical, accurate findings without the social cost. This is not a synthetic or hidden persona: the publication is operated by an accountable legal entity (full legal identity on our legal page), the editor is reachable at [email protected], and our sourcing and review standards are public at /methodology. We never fabricate personas, credentials, or author identities.

Newsletter and email

The newsletter uses double opt-in. When you submit the form we store a pending record (your email, the timestamp, and a truncated IP address, network prefix only). We email a confirmation link; you become a confirmed subscriber only after you click it. If you don't confirm within 24 hours, the pending record is deleted automatically. You can unsubscribe from any newsletter email.

Email delivery and the subscriber list run on Resend, operated by Plus Five Five, Inc. (United States). It stores and processes data in the United States; the transfer relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (both Plus Five Five, Inc. and Cloudflare, Inc. are DPF-certified). Sending for this domain is configured in Resend's EU region (eu-west-1). The signup endpoint and the pending state run on Cloudflare Workers and a Cloudflare D1 database (Cloudflare, Inc., United States); the database is created with an EU location hint, and Workers execute on Cloudflare's global edge network. Resend's sub-processor list: resend.com/legal/subprocessors.

How we make money

Affiliate links to tools we cover (clearly labeled at the top of each affected page). Sponsored data reports (clearly marked as “Sponsored” with the sponsor named). No paid placement in reviews. No undisclosed relationships.

Editorial independence

No vendor sees a review before it publishes. No vendor pre-approves content. We will publish negative findings about an affiliate partner if the findings are accurate.

No affiliate partnerships or sponsored work are active yet. Active relationships will be listed here, by name, as they begin.
